Tuesday

I am eating leftover curry rice (compliments of M) and lentils with steamed broccoli on top. I have to say (sorry M), I just can’t get into curry. I have tried lots of different curry recipes and I have never found one that was so delicious that I wanted it as part of our “regulars”. I am trying a Moroccan chicken recipe for dinner tonight that does have curry as one of the many spices. We will see how it goes…. I have enjoyed listening to my baby fall asleep while eating my lunch (at 2:30!!!) and checking my email and some favorite blog sites. I rarely get an opportunity to sit down and I hear dishes, laundry, and dinner prep calling. Anyway, Evie has a wind up bug mobile over her bed that she likes to talk to when she goes down for a nap. She coos and coos at it until her eyes get heavy and she goes to sleep. I must say, every baby makes me fall even more in love with all of my children!! Evangeline is such an amazing baby. She is a good nurser (despite ...

Updates

It never ceases to amaze me how I can’t seem to find a half and hour to sit down and gather my thoughts long enough to blog. (I have actually been writing this entry for 3 day). I am really struggling with this whole accident thing. It isn’t so much the physical aspect. Let me explain… Yes, I was injured. It wasn’t so awful that I couldn’t function. My appointments at the chiropractor have included adjustments, therapy (stretching and exercises), and massages. I have been in (or will be in) 5 times in the past two weeks, then down to once a week for the next 3 weeks or so (for now). Yes, it is a bit of a hassle but I am grateful that there is an opportunity for this kind of treatment and that I don’t have to pay for it. Yes, our car was wrecked but it is being fixed here in Silverton at no cost to us and we have a nice rental van to drive. Everything has been done in a timely manner and it should be put behind us by the end of the month. Here is where my ...

Car Accident

I was in a car accident today. I was on my way to my quilting class and as I was turning into the parking lot, I was rear ended. The bumper was damaged and the impact was severe enough to jar the radio unit right out of the console. The back end was more lifted up than it was crunched. The other car will probably be totaled. The passenger of the vehicle that hit me was taken by ambulance to the hospital. My neck was pretty stiff and I had a bit of a headache. The EMT was pretty insistent that I go to the ER and have X-Rays taken. He wanted me to go in the ambulance. I opted to have Tina drive our van back to Silverton and go to the ER there so Phil could bring baby up to nurse. (A dear friend stayed with the kids while he came up.) No severe injuries thankfully but I will probably be pretty sore tomorrow. The accident that I was in caused another accident behind me as the next car in line slammed on their brakes and then was rear ended. There was a police o...

Happy Birthday

Phil is 34 today! I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful man to share my life with. We brought Daddy a coffee treat and hung out a bit in the classroom. We had one of Phil's favorite meals (fried chicken) and chocolate mousse for dessert. Sawyer is potty trained!!!!!! My parents were instrumental in helping this process along. They worked with him diligently when he was visiting and got him excited about peeing in the potty by drawing picture (tractors, airplanes, fire trucks, sharks, etc.) for him to pee on when he went. Pretty soon, he decided he was a “big guy” and took full responsibility for using the potty by himself. Now, to work on his aim….. We are still recovering from the flu! Phil is almost cured. I feel like I am at the tail end of a cold (congestion, cough). Poor Jubilee has a runny nose, watery/teary eyes and a cough. Sawyer is the only one thus far who hasn’t gotten sick. Our Blazer is fixed and thankfully it didn’t cost a f...
