We decided that we needed a few more inches of mulch so I weeded the front beds again and then we put several inches of mulch (horse poo and sawdust) down. Herb Bed Artichokes View from the gate Top view looking down

Before and After

It is amazing what one week can do! The ducklings have upgraded to a little swimming pool. I decided to take out their food dish and instead call them and feed them by hand. They are becoming more friendly!

Here are our ducklings!! Aren't they cute! These are Cayugas - Quiet, calm, docile little ducks - perfect for an urban farm. They will become beautiful iridescent black/green grown ups.

All the Friends

Our Urban Farm needed some ducks! I talked my parents into getting some too. They picked them up and hand delivered them here to our house. Here are all the duck friends having a little recess in the pond before going to their separate homes. Hello little Runner duck! Nestled in the box. Khaki Cambells They went crazy in the pond, splashing and eating clover

Window watching - before hair brushing Pizza late Sunday evening with a view of the new raised beds. I was sick on Saturday with the stomach flu and still recovering Sunday and Monday. If I am not done with my Bible study when children start to wake up, they camp out at my feet.

One cute baby!!

Recapping the week

Last week was awfully dull and slow.  I had a serious case of Cabin Fever with "back to real life" after Spring Break and rain rain rain.  Plus, Sawyer, Evi, and I had horrific colds.  After a good vent and some sunny weather plus a few breaks in the doldrums, this week ended much better. Tuesday we went over to my parent's house where my Brother and Sister in law are house sitting and had a fun evening! Wednesday, Phil's Gramma came for a visit.  She taught me how to crochet and now I am hooked!  (No pun intended.) Thursday, a field trip for milk, eggs, and some run around time at my parents while I picked lettuce. Friday, Phil made a run to the dump and Home Depot for building supplies. Saturday, GLORIOUS Saturday!  Beautiful weather, outside ALL day, transplanting, weeding, and Phil got the rest of the deer fencing done for the front of the house.  It looks fabulous and I will post pictures when I get a chance!
