So, this camping trip was not the best timing.  Phil's last month of school has been insane with graduation and end of the year obligations (including social ones like retirement parties).  He wasn't able to take the kids to work with him very often and was gone a lot in the evenings.  When he was here, he was finishing up work stuff and working outside on watering.  He was staying up late, no downtime or reprieve.  The grass hay was in full bloom which meant feeling terrible and having to take allergy medication and use his inhaler.  In the meantime, I was finishing up all the end of the year school stuff, moving water constantly, doing all of Jubilee's birthday party stuff, and not getting any reprieve or downtime either.  After weeks of this, a camping trip was just too much.  We signed up to join some work friends of Phil's months ago, not anticipating (remembering?) how insane mid May to the end of June is (with some 90 degree weather making ...

I think we are mosly done!

Piano recitals, Science class party, planning for next year, 95 degree weather...I do believe we are mostly done with this school year!  The children are finishing up their history projects and working on math and we have one more music class and then we are officially done. Beautiful weather...until it was 95 for a couple of days, that is way too hot! I poured through the Adelman Peony farm catalogue and enjoyed the peony bouquet on the table so much that Phil went to the farm on his way home and bought just "a few" more. These popped up overnight. With the hot weather, Phil stayed up late in the evenings working on the watering system. Cool summer evening are a delight! We are still hatching ducks!!  We are on week 5 1/2 and I still have 3 eggs left in the incubator.  We (mother duck and incubator) have hatched out 7 eggs so far.  I candled the last 3 last night and we saw movement in all of them.  Not sure what to do with all these ducks!  I have our ori...

We did out last of the 3 Spring Garden Tours, tulips fields, iris gardens, and peony fields. We were a bit late in the season so only the late bloomers were still open but the weather was lovely, the blooms were amazing, and it was a good way to ease back into the school week after having last week off.  This picture is fitting since there is an outhouse in the background and his behavior and attitude was really crappy.  Grrrr! When we got home, and there was a new baby duck.  Since 2 others had died (gotten stepped on?), I decided to bring it into the house.  It was still partly in the shell and wet.  Unfortunately, because she is a lone duck, she thinks that she is a person.  School table mess.
