Christmas 2014

Christmas!  It felt a bit like being hit by a truck this year!  I don't know what it was about this year but I struggled so much with getting Christmas giving together.  I just didn't feel like I had any good ideas and the ones that I had, I just couldn't seem to implement.  I was working up to the last minute and I didn't have much Christmas spirit to even finish decorating the house.  With a birthday just days before Christmas, long days in town shopping, and then being gone away from home so much including several evenings in a row until late, I am just poopered out! I will admit, that I sighed a little sigh of relief when it was all over.  I have been anticipating in the week to come putting the house back together, reestablishing some routine and order, relaxing time with my husband and children, some crafty project time, and getting geared up for the rest of the homeschooling year.  Basically, recovery!  What I didn't hope for, and what I wa...

Evi's Birthday

Image
Here I am 13 days overdue, the day before we met our Evangeline. Big brother, age 3. Big sister, age 18 months. Before... ...After Oh how I love this girl.  She is sweet, calm, giggly, happy, sensitive, and confident to be who she is and like what she likes!  As a lover of unicorns, this quote, sums her up.... "Always be yourself, unless you can be a unicorn, then always be a unicorn."  She is herself...and happy to be off in her own little world and that is a treasured gift! This next series of 3 pictures crack me up! What is in this present?  A new unicorn. (Just what she wanted!)  I will name her "Stretchy" (later changed to Fluffy). Someone else wanted Stretchy and moved in for the grab. My Stretchy. We had to insist that Evi have her gift back.  Glorielle followed her around for much of the day "asking" for Stretchy.  In the evening, she told me, "I want a birthday so bad." Sweet, tired, girl! We had a birthday dinner at Auntie Tina and Uncl...

Winter Walk

I have really enjoyed my morning walks.  During the weekdays, I am out and back before the sun has risen but on the weekends, I am often returning home as the sun is just coming up over the horizon.  This morning, I decided to grab my camera and record the start of a new day. This picture is taken through the window of the covered bridge. Downtown along the waterfront.  I love street lamps.   The colored dots are from the town Christmas tree hiding behind the foliage.
