 21 years ago, August 5th, 2000, these two mid 20's something young people committed to doing life together.  To love and care for each other, to raise a family together, to adventure together, to weather the storms of life and grow old together. I feel that we have been blessed beyond marriage for our friendship.  Like everyone, we have had our share of pain, of hardships, of mistakes, of learning experiences but I am so glad to got through the seasons of life with my Love.   The last time we went away for our anniversary, I was pregnant with Evangeline...she is now 13 years old.  We get out on dates now that the children can be left home alone for short periods of time but we don't do overnighters typically away from our family.  In fact, there has been only one other time (right before the pandemic) where we have gone somewhere overnight (to a wedding in Bend).  So, it is very strange to go somewhere without our people.  We missed them and...

We checked in to our hotel after Gold Lake, took a nap LOL, and then headed out in the early evening to Hosmer lake.  This lake was amazing!!!  My favorite paddle so far and a place I would love to go every year!  It was so diverse.  You paddle out into the first section and then there is a trail through the reeds and rushes to the second part of the lake. The views are stunning, the "terrain" of the lake changes so there is much to see.  It was an evening paddle for us so it wasn't too crowded and the afternoon winds had died down. We loaded up and got back rather late and ate dinner around 9:00 in the only restaurant in town (if you want to call it a town.)
