Tent Trailer Maiden Voyage, Part 1
We took our tent trailer to the coast on its maiden voyage for a fast paced adventure in preparation for our big upcoming trip to Chicago. I had preplanned much of the trip with some coastal "must sees" and hikes (thanks to Pinterest). We drove a new route to Waldport and then worked our way up the coast to Seaside then home via the backroads through Newburg and Woodburn. Our first stop was Cape Perpetua. Getting a glimpse of the sea. Hiking down along the trail under the canopy of trees. I saw a whale! Can you see it in the background spouting up water? First must see, Thor's Well. This is a hole in the rock in which the sea water comes up from underneath and spills out over the sides and then recedes. It was beautiful! I could have watched the wave action for hours. The waves coming in..... And receding back under the rock.... The waves (especially terrific at high tide) crashing into the rocks. The rocky shoreline next to Thor's well. Getting ready...
