Pandemic
There is a world wide pandemic. Today, our governor instituted that no assemblage of over 250 people would be allowed for the next month and for people to have "social spacing". In response, our church has closed its doors. Schools have shut down programs, trips, and limited spectators at sporting events, many community groups (even smaller based ones) have canceled or postponed their organizations. Professional sports teams have suspended their games. Store shelves are being cleaned out. Many international flights have been canceled and the only way to enter the US from Europe is through the UK.
All of this has been brewing but today it became very "real".
But, time still moves forward....
...there are still sunsets...
...there was still a supermoon...
...the field still got mowed...
...the sky was still amazing...
...there were still sunrises...
...flowers still bloomed...
...fairy houses were still built...
...we still were out and about on our beautiful property (including this frosty early morning walk to see the alder catkins)...
...there was still amazing beauty big and small...
...we still ate 3 meals a day...
...And, best of all, God is still on the throne!!!
Before all the "state of emergency" mess...
...I got these amazing quilts...
...and found this little gem...
...the girls went on a retreat and we took these 3 out to breakfast...
...said girls came home exhausted...
...there was Wacky Day at Awanas and this costume mishap...
Much more happened, as life is busy and full. I planned and canceled a trip to Phoenix to visit an old college friend (was supposed to go over Spring Break). Friends rallied around another friend who experienced a loss. I did yard work. We did our normal busy schedule of kid life and homeschool.
I wonder...what is all of this? It seems so extreme. Is their information we don't have? I have never experienced any thing like it and am not sure exactly how to plan for the future. Do I stock up like the rest of the world? Make plans to be more self sufficient. Brace for government interventions, forced health care measures, economic decline, a panicked public (and therefor anarchical behavior). Do we quarantine ourselves and cancel plans?
I did brave the stores with Tina and get our normal groceries. I saw this and now I want a space car!
