November Happenings

What a lovely lovely November.  It has been unseasonably dry which has allowed for a lot of outside work.  Sunny skies make those shortened days feel a little brighter.

Early evening

Beautiful mornings

This dog!  She loves the heater.

I bought myself a little treat!  I like knowing the names of the things I have growing in my garden and I haven't had much luck with labels, the writing fades, they get brittle and break, and the ducks yank them out of the ground (no, seriously!).  So, I bought this leather notebook and dividers so I could catalogue what I have.

We had our Thanksgiving group recital for music.  For some reason, I wound up playing the recorder alongside my children.  For the record, I don't play the recorder and I don't do very well under pressure.  It was put together a bit last minute and I practiced for hours, learning the notes, learning the song, and then learning how to play alongside the children (which is very distracting).  I was so incredibly nervous but we pulled it off without a hitch (unless you think high pitched recorders are a hitch...).

The children love going to the library.  I try to fit this in every 6-8 weeks and stock up on library books!

I can always count on a quiet afternoon when we come home from the library.

Say hello to our newest farm member.  His name is Patrick and we added Mr. Phine to that, so Patrick Phines...but Buddy is what naturally comes out of my mouth when I stand on the porch and holler out to him.  He is a somewhat small (but not mini) 2 year old donkey.  He needed to be rehomed due to a move (Phil's head principal owned him) so, naturally we had him come here.  We need to read up on donkey care and training!  So far, he has gotten a ton of attention and carrots LOL.
