Glorielle's 8th Birthday

Glorielle turned 8!

I am looking at this picture and realizing how quickly the seasons in life pass.  We were in full on young children, toddler, and baby mode at this stage of life...and it was to be our last addition.  Sawyer was 6, Jubilee was 5, Evi was 3, and Brighton was 18 months.  We were a busy family of little ones.  Our life revolved around food, naps, diapers, playtime, routines.  We kept close to home to keep our routines and our adventures were trips to the library and the city park.

We are now immersed with elementary, Jr. High, and starting High School mode.  Sawyer is 14, Jubilee is 13, Evi is 11, and Brighton is 9.  We are a busy family of individuals rather than a group.  Our life revolves around homeschool, farm life, chauffeuring, friendships, and church life.  We have to say "no" to many good things in order to run our home and get our school hours in.  Our adventure at the moment is restoring the farm (watering, fencing, clean up, landscaping, and finishing our remodel).  We did a lot of traveling before we bought the farm because we were able to hike and camp much easier with elementary aged children then little ones.

Baby snuggles..what precious times those fleeting moments of newborns really were.

And now, she is 8!  She is our child who entered our busy world of little ones.  Recently, she slept on the floor in the boys room when the older girls were gone somewhere overnight because, "I am the last born and I am used to being around people." That really sums it up.  She didn't want to be in a room all by herself.  She is a very funny girl and keeps us laughing.  She likes coloring and looking at books and it usually part of the crowd so her entertainment is doing what her sisters are doing or hanging out with Brighton.  She is an easy student to teach, compliant, and wants to do well.  She is a Messy Marvin LOL!  She has been such a lovely addition to our family and I couldn't imagine a greater kid to be our "baby".

We took her out to breakfast.

Then, it was home to clean up before friends came over for a pool party and a spaghetti feed.  I didn't take many pictures.  With 11 children running around, in and out of the pool, eating when they got hungry, it was a bit chaotic.  I don't think we even sang Happy Birthday because we never had everyone in the same spot!
