I should have been a hermit....

You know, I could really use a break from weirdness with people LOL!  We had a strange encounter with our neighbor lady that lives about 1/3 of a mile away but shares a fence line with us.  I had a very unfortunate session with someone who was mentoring me that caused a lot of grief.  We are continuing our opposition to the current house bill stripping parents of their rights to make medical decisions on behalf of their children and this is a very charged situation fueled with media fear tactics and scared people who become angry and hostile.  It is a disheartening situation.  I have been wrestling through all these issues and more and trying my best to apply what I have learned to the relationships within my home.  Encouraging my children to come to me anytime they have been hurt by something that I have said or done so we can work that together.  Encouraging them to talk to each other through the fruit of the spirit (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control).  Warning them of mob mentality and not to get caught up in fear and anger (we just so happen to be reading through Acts where angry mobs are stirred up against Paul in every city).  Encouraging them to let scripture be their guide to conduct, decision making, and even political choices.  Encouraging them to take part in the legislative process and understanding our constitutional rights.

I certainly can't say that all of this has gone swimmingly.  I have stewed, cried, deeply felt injustice and hurt, and have struggled to be the example to my children.  But, the silver lining in all of this, is an even closer relationship with my husband.  He has has been there for me, listened to me, taken a stand with me as well as stood up for me, given me guidance when I didn't know what to do, and in all of this held his composure and been above reproach, a true Biblical example and leader!  I am so very grateful and so very proud of him! (Yay Phil, I think you are amazing!!!)

Oh, April, how I simply adore the clouds that grace your special month of tumultuous weather!

My oh my...10+ years of lego collections, of birthday and Christmas gifts..

Ducks are quite accident prone, this is the second time in a week that I have had to snip attachments wound tightly around a duck foot.

I snuck into my studio and made a cabin and a desert scape.

We took a field trip, with 4 goats in tow, to the Geometry in Construction class at Phil's school, where we got to see the barn that has been built by students for our goaties.  The goaties were very appreciative - they pooped and peed ALL OVER (how can that much waste be stored in such small bodies?) and then humped each other repeatedly in front of the students.  I can only imagine the social media postings....

Oy, the stinky car ride.

Checking out the scaffolding.

We were there for 2 class periods.  The first was a fun interactive group that loved the goats.  The second had a few people that sat quietly and the rest were at the tables with no interest whatsoever.  Can I say, I know that people use cell phones, I know that I use my cell phone a lot, but I was shocked at the level of absorption that high school students have in their phones.  It was like they couldn't function without a phone in their hand and their face in a screen.  Very eye opening!

Oh dear...the humping...
