Evangeline's 11th Birthday
What a day this day was LOL!
First, 11 years doesn't seem all that long ago...but wow, looking at these pictures, it surely was!
Phil with black hair and facial hair and these two little one, just 3 and 18 months old.
2 weeks overdue.
Meeting the new sister and granddaughter.
Zell was just a baby.
And here she is!! She was such laid back and easy baby (and still is laid back and easy going). Our smack dab in the middle child, the sensitive one, the compassionate one, the people pleaser, the giggler, the quick to smile child, the creative one. We are so grateful for her!
The winter solstice, the shortest day of the year, what a lovely day to be born, cozy in the winter with longer days ahead.
So, what a day it was....let me explain:
First, Glorielle woke up wailing of a sore throat (and she can be overly dramatic so I didn't know how serious to take her...as it turns out it was basically nothing), Sawyer had a bloody nose shortly after getting up, and B didn't eat enough dinner and had a stomach ache (something we have dealt with many times). We had an hour to eat breakfast and get in the car for music class. As we were getting in the car, I saw Bookie (the cat) and he had a huge baseball sized abscess on his face. He of course wouldn't let me catch him (hasn't let me catch him since we moved). I called my mom and left a message seeing if she could come out and catch him (because he lets her pick him up). While in the parking lot of Wilco, while I was getting tea, B puked (cleverly, I had a puke bowl and towel just in case) while Evi gagged repeatedly, nearly puking herself. I was emptying out the puke bowl in the corner of the parking lot when my mom called back and they headed over to catch the cat. In the meantime, I am ticking off the list in my head - need to quickly get to music class, need to get some art supplies at JoAnn's for the party, need to take the kids out to lunch, need to get Evi a b-day drink at dutch brothers, and the kids wanted to go to the library, and how was I going to fit in CATastrophe (see what I did there)? I spent music class on the phone with my parents, the vet, and Phil. I was not thinking clearly and somehow agreed to a 560 dollar vet bill. I am still traumatized because I should have done the treatment myself since I have dealt with abscesses on him before. Lunch, treats, and I talked the children into going to the library next week in favor of watching Jumangi at home. Poor Phil had to pick the cat up right after work, pick up kitty litter because he needs to be contained, and empty out/clean up the little pen that we have attached to the barn. Then, help me finish cleaning up the house since we left in a hurry in the morning. Meanwhile, I got dinner made - pasta and sauce it was, no side dishes LOL unless you count ice cream for dessert. Poor Phil was so out of it after several very long weeks that he could barely stay awake and track what was going on. We got kids in bed by 8:00 and he crashed.
I really do need to get my camera settings for dark figured out. I am tired of yellow and blur!!! Grammy and Grampy came for dinner.
More crafting goods, crochet hooks and yarn, and rock painting supplies.
