Spring is coming!

The weather is changing, the storms area less steady and more wild.  The air is warmer, the sun beams are once again cozy.  The bright greens of Spring are not quite here but the beginnings of the spectacular Spring flower show are!  The flowering trees are budding and the magnolias are starting to unfold.  It seems quite early but I guess March is almost here!

Phil is gone this weekend, so the children and I are on our own.  We walked downtown (about a 2 mile round trip), played uno games, and had dinner at my parent's.  I realize how taxing and time consuming homeschooling is on this rare day of being with the children alone and NOT doing school.   So much more time to get chores done and do other "fun stuff" like playing outside, walking, games, and read alouds.

Downtown

The statue of "Bobby".

This friendly little bantam escaped her yard so the girls took care of her most of the afternoon.

My garden is awakening!

On the way to my parents, we took a little side road for a change of scenery and came upon smokey looking sunbeams in the late afternoon sun.
