Beautiful Weekend

Can I just marvel again at the incredible winter weather that we have had!  The problem with beautiful weather...is the strong desire to be out in it!  It is hard to confine yourself to the house and the weekend chores when sunny skies are calling.

We spent most of the weekend doing some deeper house cleaning and organization and working on homeschooling prep but did slip out for an afternoon barbecue at my parent's house.

I love how little children sleep - hunkered over her blanket with a stuffed rabbit on her back.

This may have been some of the clearest skies that I remember having.  On a good day, you can see Mount Saint Helens.  On an excellent day, you can make out the white shadow of Mount Adams.  On this day, you could see both so clearly!

We roasted hot dogs over the burn pile fire.  I was glad for the warmth, the wind still felt wintry.

Mount Hood at the day's end as we drove back home.

I did a little decorating on Sunday.  I hung up these colorful crochet circles.  And Phil replaced the big painting with four of my photographs.  It was just a little too dark for my liking and this brightened the living room up.  I also added a little color to the buffet decorations.  It is much more to my liking.  The previous decor didn't have the color splashes or whimsy that characterize my style.
