Just a slow January

January and February are probably my least 2 favorite months of the year.  I tend to go a little stir crazy being cooped up during these Winter months and waiting for warm weather and longer days.  To be fair, it has been a beautiful winter with mild temperatures and sun.  Though, I could do without the fog!

I have been quite complainy about feeling the need for a "life overhaul".  I just want to purge most of what we own and go down to the most basic and simple ways of living so that we can invest more time into other areas.  I find that time requirements are really increasing in other areas of my life and I have yet to find a way to rearrange the hours.   We need some big changes.  We got rid of our chickens and are trying to find homes for our fiber rabbits.  We plan to put in a more permanent garden and limiting our vegetable garden.  We are wanting to go through the house and downsize and clean and organize (truthfully, I do this every year anyway but I need to be more ruthless!).  We are pondering simpler and faster meals.

Homeschooling is still amazes me in its hourly requirements and organization and planning.  And every year...even every season within the year, finds me adding more and doing more.  That leaves much less time for housework, for meals, for gardening, and even for hobbies.  The children are helpful but it feels more chaotic than I would like.  (Phil thinks I am being unreasonable LOL.  I probably am!)  We are adding more outside activities with co-op, Awanas, and wanting to do more traveling and adventuring now that it is a little easier to do so.

Hat day for Awanas.  Awanas has been a very fun program for the children.

I hesitate to post this for fear someone might look at this picture not being from a silly boy rather a sociopath LOL.  So, this is Brighton's self portrait.  He has 5 arms from left to right they are holding a turtle, a gun, a hammer, a "cutting" chainsaw, and a bomb.  The purple triangle is pee and apparently, he is mad in the picture.  Ummmm.....at least the girls are drawing fairy princess pictures and rainbows.

They changed the font in Jubilee's reading book to much smaller.  Now she, is reading twice as much.  I was requiring her to read aloud (and we do three lessons/stories/chapters a day) but that will take forever so now she is silent reading.

Oh dear, the bad guys got her.
