Photographing Antique Tractors

This blog post is all about being in the right place at the right time!  Ordinarily, I am drawn most to landscape and other nature scenes but the weathered colors and the lines on these tractors caught my eye!  I also am a photographer by opportunity.  Rarely do I set up a tripod and experiment with the options on the camera, rather I take my camera most every where I go and "point and shoot" in the moment.

I took quite a few photographs while the children played and climbed and then we explored the other parts of the museum grounds.  During that time, we had a brief rainstorm followed by a clearing and I just knew that the same photographs would be magnified with color and light and shadow as brought on by the rain.  Phil and the children went to the car and I took about 30 minutes and went back through the antique tractor line and redid the photo session.  Of the following photographs, not one pictures was chosen from the original batch, true to form, the rain took the ordinary and made it extraordinary.

They say that for every photography session, you may only get one great photo.  These three are my favorites:

I like this one for abstract composition.

I like this one for color tones and the depth created.

I like this one for color and form.
