Craft Night

I have been interested in hosting a craft night for a couple of years now but never did anything to set it in motion until Christmas Vacation.  My sister-in-law and I were talking about it and she decided to spearhead the project and get it all set up.  Perfect!  I am glad she is a go-getter.  Craft night is scheduled for the fourth Thursday of every month, hosted by me, here in my home.  We had our first craft night yesterday.  It was so much fun!  We had knitting, crocheting, arm knitting, and needle felting.  I am already looking forward to the next one.

All set up and ready for guests!

What a good excuse to have a nice house clean LOL!

I needed some sort of decor for my archway shelf.  I looked outside and could find nothing green and pretty.  I saw the old dried up sunflower heads and picked a few, then I discovered some beautiful dried artichoke flowers, and seedpods from my lilies.  I arranged them in a brown vase but they needed something else...then I remembered some turkey feathers that I had collected a few months back.  Perfect!  I set my ceramic statue next to the arrangement and I have to say, I am really pleased with it.  I tend to like bright vibrant colors but this brown, offset by the white "money tree" arrangement on the other side of the shelf, with colorful crochet mandalas and crochet birds hanging in the archway is a beautiful combination.

Every so often, I crochet a few more trees for my forest.  The little houses are a ceramic trinket that we picked up in the Jewish quarter, in Prague.  Oh, how I wish I had more!!!
