Just a little of March

Cheap meals...cabbage, Kale, rice, stew meat/hamburger meat.  There are so many great ways to serve inexpensive healthy foods.  The above is a slow cook meal from Julia Child's with a combination of tomatoes, rice, and meat, served over a bed of sauteed cabbage.  Below, is pan fried spring rolls stuffed with a cabbage, hamburger mix and served with a sweet and sour dipping sauce.  Two totally different flavors but with similar base ingredients.  I find my challenge is to keep a dinner meal right around the 10 dollar mark.  A pound or so of meat, often with rice or potatoes, a side veggie, and usually a green salad.

Aren't these new plates fun!  I love them.  My Sister-in-Law, Tina, bought them for my birthday at an antique store but just couldn't wait until November to give them to me.  I am glad to use them now!

Cozying up by the fire and drinking breakfast shakes before church.

Ta Da!  The cotton baby blanket is finally finished.  I washed , dried it, and put a label on it with care instructions.  It got a bit pilly grrrr....I have never had cotton get pilly.  All my dishcloths are just fine so I hope it was just because I washed and dried it with some pilly fleece (used the dryer which is a rarity these days).
