A Day in the Life
Monday morning, ready to tackle the long week ahead. I try and start every morning with Bible reading and personal devotions. I love that early morning time before anyone is up when it is quiet and dark, cuddled up in a blanket, next to my little radiator heater, with a hot cup of tea.

B loves to help. He is stirring up the eggs and the berry cups are ready for coconut cream.

I grabbed a 15 minute snooze and 5 minutes of crochet time by the toasty fire during rest time then worked on reading lessons with the older two while the others napped.
Homeopathic remedies. When Sawyer gets earaches (sometimes with a cold), I make him a garlic oil mix to apply to his sore ear. This has cured every start to an ear infection! And an added benefit was to eat the garlic with dinner!
I have been really working on making meals a priority. When I am not organized and prepared, I tend to let nutrition slide and serve something quick and easy and forego side dishes. Phil and I are back to drinking a nutrient dense shake in the morning and I have been working on serving lots of veggies, healthy fats, meats and broth, less starches and carbs. I had an 'all day beef stew' in the crockpot (from Nourishing Traditions) simmering since this morning and I served it with Mexican (black) rice (from Nourishing Traditions), sauteed cabbage, and a salad filled with fresh greens, shredded beets, and carrots.
The evening was a little too crazy to record in pictures. We had dinner then Phil went outside to clean out the rabbit cages (which is my job!), clean up dog poop, and stack firewood while I cleaned the kitchen and supervised the children doing their chores. Then it was time for read aloud (I always save this part of "school" for Phil since he likes it so much). I will admit to being tuckered out before 6:00 and having to power through another hour and a half or so before I could sit down and catch up on my blog. Now I am ready to crawl into my bed, crochet for a few minutes, then fall asleep!
