Handmade Christmas

I love making homemade gifts.  I love the creative energy.  I love being able to think about each individual as I try and tailor their gift to what I think they might like.  I love that we have made it a "necessary" time commitment so even though the house goes to pieces and Phil has to provide me a lot of creative time, it is the one time of year, I feel like I can make it a priority.  I will say this, after some very long days and crafting late into the night, I was glad to get everything done and take a little break!

I made gift baskets.  These are fun to do but I am practically arthritic by the time I finish.  LOL!  I double the cotton and use a small hook to make it firm.  It requires lots of tugging and a tight grip.  I like the results so much I have a market basket idea running through my head.
Phil made these lovely beeswax candles and I tied them up with a bit of raffia.  They smell wonderful!

I learned a new hobby!  I figured out how to make wire wrap jewelry!  It was so much fun.  I had a terrible time trying to get non-blurry pictures but you get the idea!  I thought it would be fun to make these and sell them on etsy.  I figured I could ask a little more for them than I would get from a crocheted project so that might offset the cost of the beads and give me 4 dollars an hour for my labor.  Bargain!  LOL!

I crocheted headbands as well but I will have to wait until my models (my girls) are decked out in their winter wear for pictures.
