Adventure at the Coast
The forecast was for hot weather so we decided on a spontaneous trip to the coast where the temperatures were to be a bit cooler but still sunny.

Newport was having some sort of festival. I scared the daylights out of Sis when she was tentatively looking at the crab and I snuck up on her and gave her a scare. She did not want to pose for this picture.

Yes, this is cute...but I tell you it became borderline ridiculous as we navigated through the busy waterfront. This literally drew crowds. Most people (particularly ladies) turned their heads gasping at the sheer adorableness OF THE DOG! We could not go 10 feet without someone stopping to ask about our dog, to comment to their companion within our hearing about the dog. It dawned on me what a tragedy it is that we have 5 lovely, well behaved children including a sweet baby and people were enamored not with them but with a dog. Not one comment was given about our baby and only a few comments made toward our children/family (particularly Brighton since he was holding Vienna). I wonder what our society would be like if children became the object of wonderment and excitement and cuteness.
I will say, that most of the time when the children and I are out and about running errands, we do get comments about our family size. Most are kind. Most are bewilderment. I know of many moms who have had someone come up and make a nasty comment to them because they chose to let the Lord abundantly bless them. I am thankful that I have yet to experience that!!!
