Wrapping up the Month of May
May was such a crazy busy month.
The children took swim lessons twice a week. It was an all morning affair of getting ready, lessons, play time, then a picnic with friends afterwards on nice days.
Phil finished up coaching track.
We had Brighton evaluated and put on an educational plan to help him with his speech. Honestly, I am not fully confident that having someone work with him twice a month will make that much of an improvement. I was disappointed with the service for Sawyer and found it to be a waste of time until this past year where we switched speech therapists (to the school service) and she was able to give me some new things to work with him on that did make improvements.
We had quite a few appointments, evening obligations, and weekends out.
The girls and I had our last Little Rubies moms and daughters group until the Fall.
Lots of gardening - weeding, planting, and mulching this month!
We found out that Phil won't be coaching football!! The budget for the program was cut and coaches were asked to take a large pay deduction and we decided that it wasn't worth the time investment at the lower pay. We are both really excited about the prospect of two extra weeks of summer, no Spring practices, no summer duties, and of course evenings home with the family for 3 whole months! This will be the first year that he has not coached since we had children.
We found a bullfrog living next to the rabbit cages. He (she) has been there for several weeks despite being harassed by the children! Sometimes he stays in a big aquarium inside the house that we set up for him.
We set up a school room. We had the furniture that we bought at the garage sales just sitting around stacked up in the main living space and Glorielle's room so we decided to get it placed in the house and see how we liked the arrangement. The summer plan is to refinish the pieces with paint and then do our annual big house purge and clean. Looking forward to my time of organizing the house and planning for the next school year!
