Great Wolf Lodge
We decided to spend some of our Christmas money making fun family memories. Great Wolf Lodge (an indoor water park in Washington) had a homeschooling discount week so we booked a night. Wednesday morning, we had breakfast at the Willamette Fruit Company and then drove up. We checked in late afternoon and headed down to the pool for some swimming before dinner. Grandma Tracy drove down (from Kent) to spend time with the children during the evening swim time. I stayed in the room trying to get an overtired Glorielle to sleep! The children and Phil spent most of the following morning in the water, we ate lunch, and then had another hour or so of playtime before we headed home. The children loved it!!!!

The boys doing the same.
Evi was fearless! She couldn't get enough splashing and even went down the medium sized slides over and over. What a little thrill seeker! Her face was all laughter and smiles!
Brighton experiencing the pool!
I Love this picture. Jubilee was quite tentative at first and didn't like the splashing. She loosened up a bit over time in the wave pool but liked the "kiddie" play area the best with the shallow water and small slides.
Sawyer was out in the deep water - independent from the start. He went on the "scariest" of rides (one called the Tornado) with Daddy. He was exactly 48 inches tall, the minimum requirement to ride. He was a little fearful but he conquered it and braved the ride.
Getting splashed in the face is not Brighton's idea of a good time.
Glorielle has an early bedtime and a morning nap so I cozied up to the faux fireplace and did a lot of crocheting.
Sweet baby! I didn't get to do much playing but as I was sitting trying to help poor Glorielle fall asleep and stay asleep, I focused on what a gift she is to me and to our family. No, I didn't get much time out of the room and she was quite cranky but every time I started to feel a bit sorry for myself, I immediately flooded my thoughts with how worth it she is and what a small price to pay for having a delightful little girl to snuggle and kiss every day.
When she wasn't napping in bed, she was comfy on Mommy's back. I was able to wade out a little and play with the children a couple of times while she was snuggled in the Ergo. I took this picture over my shoulder.
Team Kelly! We are so blessed!!!

What the wave pool looks like when the lifeguards discover poop floating in it. All guests chased out while they fish for debris and shock the water with powerful chemicals.
