First Week and the Mommy kit
This is mommy's care package given to me Saturday night! When I feel the need to pop something, I can pop some balloons! The gum (called Stride) is to remind me to take it in stride. There are bumps and bruises along the way (bandaids). I may be tempted to close my eyes and relax..candles are a light in the darkness. The card (a happy birthday duck card picked out by Sawyer) with each child's name written in it is to remind me of why I do this! If I feel tempted to take drugs, I can have a coke (did you know that they actually used to put cocaine in coca cola?). Sometimes I need to shift gears (Stride gum that shifts flavors). Chocolates tell me that my Love is almost home. A love card reminds me that my husband loves me. I may be sad that he is gone so much but he is will help light my path.
And finally, maybe sometimes, I just need a bigger spoon!
Is that not so great!!
It was really a long week: Monday the children and I made a big grocery store run and stocked up for the month. Tuesday, I went to Target while the children played at Auntie Tina's and then we went to Michaels and Cash and Carry. (So happy that I can take 4 children into a craft store where there is a bajillion tempting items on display during nap time and have everyone behave.) Wednesday, we took Claudia for a walk. Thursday, we picked peaches and had dinner at my parents while Phil was up in Sherwood for the first JV game of the season. Phil got home at 11:30. Friday, we attempted to fill the long evening with a trip to Craft Warehouse. We got there, shopped for about 5 mintues, and then they closed the store due to an electrical issue. We ate popcorn for dinner and watched a movie. Phil got home at 2:30 a.m. Saturday, a friend called in a work exchange favor (building a shop) and Phil was up and out by 8:00 and home by 6:00. We walked the dog and said hi. It was a bit torturous for the children since they could see Daddy working from the top of our hill. Sunday, we skipped church and did chores. Phil worked all afternoon. The Irwins came for dinner and we had a wonderful time relaxing on the patio and enjoying a nice toasty fire in the fire pit. Monday, Phil had practice first thing in the morning and then we packed up and spent the day at the job site where he is madly trying to finish up the painting project that he started this summer. Jubilee, Brighton, and I went to Craft Warehouse. It was fun! It is 11:30 and Phil is at the classroom preparing for the first day with students (tomorrow). I am listening to Brighton complaining and waiting to see if he is going to quiet down or if I will need to go get him. He has been waking up a lot at night.
Just another week at the Kelly household! I may need to drink that coca cola!
