Waiting for Brighton

I see the baby "widget" to the right of the blog screen ceases to have a baby in it, that is not the case here!!  I went in for an ultrasound today to check the fluid level.  Brighton has plenty of fluid to keep him healthy and happy.  He is sunnyside up, which we are hoping to change with positioning during labor.  (Gave birth to a sunnyside up, not easy - almost needed pitocin to get things moving when they stalled out, lots of pushing and 3 minute long contractions).  I had an epidural for that one so at least it wasn't excruciating hard work (freaked out a bit with the IV and pitocin threat)!  I also went in for a "stress test" (for the baby, not me!) where they measure heart beat and contractions for about 20 minutes.  Everything was great there, too.  I am hoping for a natural childbirth but the idea of 3 minute long contractions has me scared spitless!  60-90 seconds are about all I can handle!

We went to Costco and stocked up on things I don't buy, like cold cereal which Phil and the children are THRILLED about!  It is all about easy and simple, especially since it doesn't look like we are going to get any of Phil's vacation time to help with the transition of a new baby.  I am pretty nervous about how I am going to nurse and then pump (which takes about an hour total) without Phil here to help with the older 3 and hold the baby while I am attached to the pump.  I am pretty much hour on and hour off and I try to pump at night, too.  Diligence with building milk supply is exhausting and stressful but SO WORTH IT!!!  With Evi, I managed to nurse her exclusively for over 10 months and through the night until 13 months.

Phil has been working hard outside on raised beds and a new chicken coop.  He is using the old one to make the most adorable little walk in coop and pen.  I will have to post pictures once he is done.  We are getting our little farm ready for Spring and are determined to have our veggies sowed on time!  I have been hanging out, doing very little!  I have so much pressure (Brighton's head is in position!) that I have a hard time walking or even standing for long periods of time.
