Hanging in there!

I have lots of cute pictures but haven't taken the time to download them so I will just give a written update.

Having lots of Braxton Hicks contractions.  Nothing regular and timeable but labor intensive at times!  It has been challenging to keep up with regular life through the uncomfortableness and I am unable to sleep through them so feeling pretty tired as well.  Phil has taken on a lot of responsibilities when he comes home with the children, cleaning up, taking care of doggy, helping with meals, etc..  We have had the washer flood the garage twice in the past week so he has been trying to fix this and help out with the backload of laundry.  He is tired too, but never complains.

We are wrapping up (or so I would like to think) Christmas preparations and getting ready to celebrate Evi's 2nd birthday on the 21st which is also Brighton's due date.  My SIL has a birthday on the 23rd so it promises to be a busy week with B-days, possible new baby, and Christmas festivities!!

Evi got a 2nd degree burn on her hand last night when she had a run in with the iron.  I am feeling so HORRIBLE about this.  I left it out while working on Brighton's quilt when Phil and the children were away running errands.  They came home and in the chaos of everyone's grand entry, she somehow managed to make it over to the iron before I had a chance to get it put away.  I don't even know exactly how it happened.  I made a gel out of aloe vera, vitamin E, and lavender oil.  I applied it very thickly over her burn and then loosely layered gauze and then taped a sock over it.  She has been a model patient and cried so little I wasn't even sure she got burned at first.

Both the girls have full blown snotty colds and Sawyer started complaining about having a sore throat today.  Not the best timing!!  I am hoping that they are cured by the time baby gets here.  Our last experience with a newborn baby and colds, stomach/diarrhea bug, influenza flu, and mystery fevers for 5 straight weeks was a torture Phil and I never want to repeat!!!

Please keep the Kelly family in your prayers for Brighton's safe and healthy arrival and for the transition to life with a newborn during this busy holiday season!
