Home Again!
There is no place like home!!!
We had a wonderful wonderful wonderful first leg of our journey. We left the resort just before 8:00 and the children were so tired that they sat quiet in the backseat (this is rare!). The girls slept some and they all watched movies. This gave Phil and I a rare and needed time to talk uninterrupted for about 3 hours. We just talked about US and it was SO SO NICE to have that time to connect and communicate and get back to the same starting gate together and feel like a couple. When you are in the season of small children, sometimes being a couple gets lost in the busyness!
We stopped by the Ranch to see the new adventure that the Johnson family is up too. They will soon be moving into an old ranch style home and helping out on a cattle ranch. It is definitely a project but looks like a lot of fun and a great adventure for the whole family! After sweltering at the ranch for awhile we went to their current home in Medford and let the children run and play for several hours before heading home around 8:00. I wish we lived closer!!!!!!!
The last leg was somewhat more of a challenge. The girls fell asleep immediately but woke up shortly after. The children were tired and we were all feeling the effects of spending most of the day in the car plus it was way past everyone's bedtime and the crew wasn't out until about 11:00. We arrived home at midnight, put everyone to bed, unloaded the car, and went to bed ourselves.
It is so nice to be home again. We love the area that we live in, we love our little house and how we have fixed it up, we love our yard and garden. We have our own little slice of heaven here and being gone helped us to appreciate it even more!!
Yesterday, we just puttered around! Phil mowed the lawn, we checked the watering system and figured out what needed changes, we petted the cats (a lot, at their insistence!), we made future plans about the yard and what we wanted to get done. We decided to try and pick cherries in the evening so we went to my parents house and had dinner and then headed over to their neighbor's cherry trees. The season was too far gone to be able to pick enough to process so we just got a couple containers for fresh eating. My parents gave me a big wonderful glass bowl from France and I decided that it is my new bread bowl (have to start making bread now). We also took home two goldfish from their little pond for our water feature.
Today, we really must unpack!
Tomorrow, Phil will head back to work to finish up his construction job (hopefully by the end of the week). Then I am hoping to tackle the inside of the house and give everything a good Spring Clean and get organized and scheduled before football season starts.
Team Kelly is up, and we are going to work outdoors while it is still cool!
