Friday

Thank heavens we are out of the miserable heat wave and are moving into our normal hot. We are suppose to hold at 90 for the next couple of days and then (hopefully) move down to 80 by Thursday with clouds. What a relief. Yesterday, it was 10 degrees cooler in the house at 11:00 pm. What a relief!

We went up to our friends the Irwins for dinner last night. They live on a creek with a nice swimming hole. Sawyer was quite the little water dog, doggy paddling all over (with his life jacket). Jubilee, who doesn't much care for water, even got in and was doing pretty well by the end! Poor Evi had her first water trauma. She wasn't happy about the sand but perked up when I took off her pants and shirt and sat her in the water. She was playing and crawling around and started down a bit of a decline. She went deep enough for her mouth to be in the water and you could see the panic in her eyes. Poor thing. I was just a couple steps away and she didn't even cough but that caused quite a bit of howling.

Cleaning is going...I am losing a bit of inspiration. One can only dust and vacuum so much before getting bored! Children's rooms, hallway closet, linen cupboards, and bathroom have all been purged and cleaned. We even did a furniture rearrange for Sawyer and Sissy's room. I moved into the livingroom last night and hope to have that finished today so I can tackle the kitchen tomorrow. Then, I have the unpleasant task of cleaning the laundry room. This is the room that miscellaneous odds and ends get stuck in so they don't clutter the rest of the house. The playroom is last on the list and will be done in stages after Phil starts Summer school on Monday. You can't even walk in the playroom because we still have camping stuff and totes that need to be put in the garage. I have had to pile toys on the floor because I can't get to the shelves to put them away.

When I finish the playroom, we are going up to IKEA to buy a couple of children's tables and chairs. Phil is going to laminate the tops of the tables and the children will have their own school tables to work on and eat at when we have guests over. (With baby number 4, we have maxed our table out.)

Phil almost has our chicken coop built. It looks great! The chicks could move out to their permanent home by the end of the week! We are rethinking our fencing. Todd and Beth have bantams and they escape their 7 foot fence. Part of their outdoor section is in the bamboo so I am not sure how we are going to keep them from roosting up in the top. If we had a big space this wouldn't be so bad but if they fly out they will land in someone else's yard.

Pictures will come eventually, the computer still isn't hooked up. Phil has not been greatly inspired to crawl around the insulation in the attic when it is probably 120 degrees to reroute the internet cable.
