Yesterday
Yesterday ended up being a nice, low key day, after my initial disappointment of changing plans right in the middle of a project and losing "my animals". The children and I enjoyed playing and working outside. It was so warm and sunny that we just soaked it up. Everyone got along very well which always makes for such a pleasant atmosphere. We had lunch and dinner on the patio for the second day in a row and after dinner we walked down to the park. It was so relaxing!
The weather forecast calls for a 20 degree temperature drop today. I am not sure I am ready to give up those 80 degree days yet! Bring on Summer!!!

Emily, I meant to post a comment yesterday and the day sped away. I certainly can understand your disappointment but I just want to encourage you (as I hope you would me!) that those WISE decisions are so difficult sometimes but God ALWAYS uses them for good. Your children are watching you, paying attention as you deny your wants and wishes in order to choose wisely. Makes me think of the verse about those that can be trusted with little will be given much (too bad I'm too lazy to reference it!!!!). I can't wait to see your urban farm grow as the LORD builds it.
ReplyDeleteWell, Ericka, I have to admit, it was not my shining moment. My "habit" tends to be a short time of stewing, then a good cry with words based on emotions that are self-pity oriented, then feeling bad that I handled it poorly, humbled, then carry on.
ReplyDeleteEmily I am dlelilghted to see how fully you value your materal calling. Your blog is amazing. You, Ericka . . . and who's the other one (?) oh yeah, Michelle, are Proverbs 31 to the tee!! Keep on, keeping on.
