What a week
Wowers, it has been a DIFFICULT week. The raining days have kept us inside and the energy level has manifested itself into noise noise noise, wrestling, disagreements, and general out of control wiggles. I feel like a full time police officer, a grouchy one. This morning, I got up a little after 6 to quickly start breakfast and then squeeze in a Bible study before the children got up. Both, were up before I even opened my Bible. Quite seriously, it doesn't matter what time I get up, they get up too and I can't start my day in the Word. It is maddening. I am getting up an hour and a half earlier than I was when I started trying to do daily morning study and still not getting one in. Anyways, it was enough to push me to tears. Phil came back just before school started with an egg nog latte (my favorite) and last night he banished me to the bathroom to enjoy a candle lit bubble bath while he entertained the children. Fortunately, the children were much improved in their behavior today and we had an opportunity to ride bikes outside. My parents came over for lunch on their way to the airport (they are going on vacation to Sante Fe) which was a nice break up to the day and I even got a nap in. I have to say, it is only by God's grace that I am not suffering morning sickness to the same extent that I normally do or I would have to be committed.
Ditch the morning devotions. It took me 11 years to figure that one out...It still does happen sometimes, but not because I'm trying. I sneak it in during the day, usually at nap time. I was starting my day off too frustrated that it never worked out....didn't think that was what the Lord wanted for me.
ReplyDeleteEither that or teach the kiddos to stay in their beds, reading or doing quiet activities until come and get them. BUT if you are going to do this, devote a few mornings (or more, if needed) strictly to teaching and training. Don't attempt to have devotions on those mornings (if it so happens that you can, great! But don't expect it). Use those mornings soley for training.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing you this evening! Blessings!!!!
