Yellow Day
We wore yellow shirts, had bananas and fresh squeezed lemonade for a snack, read Curious George (you know, the man with the Yellow hat), colored a picture of the sun, dug for yellow treasures in a split pea box, and searched for yellow hexagons (pattern blocks) that were hidden in the livingroom. I took pictures and plan to make a color book for each color day we do.

Grandpa's Visit
Grandpa (aka Gampa) Zane came down for a visit. He brought lots of fun toys. We played ALL day Saturday. He had to go home on Sunday. We wish he could visit more often. We had such a good time!!
Mother's day
What a day packed with a little of everything! In the morning I got my Mother's Day surprise, two hanging baskets and a stand. I can't wait to get them planted!! Grandpa Zane came over mid-morning and everyone but me and Evie went to Home Depot. I took this time to tie up my raspberries and spread oyster shells on my strawberry bed. Rare is the time when I am completely along. It was very quiet and pleasant. I love working in my garden. We had a late lunch and then Grandpa had to head home. The two older kids had dinner, popcorn, and a movie at my parents while Phil and I went to a movie. We were hoping that Evie would go to sleep in the theatre. No such luck. Poor Phil had to swing her in the carseat by the door the ENTIRE time.
Chickens
My parents got chickens in the mail but unfortunately, one was blind. We knew she would never survive in a chicken yard so she is now living with us. Her name is Helen (naturally) and she is doing really well so far! I had to eye dropper feed and water her for a few days but today she started eating and drinking on her own.
And Finally, today
We had such a busy weekend that I decided not to run errands like I normally do on Mondays. I did a little clean up and we did lots of playing. I chased deer in my barefeet with a fist full of rocks (they were eating my apple trees AGAIN!!) and cleaned up cat poop from the sand pile that the kids like to play in (GROSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!). The kids woke up from their naps, shall I say, VERY testy and Phil was teaching a computer training class so the evening was extremely long. Somewhere along the way, I lost my brain and washed the same load of laundry twice. I had just pulled it out of the dryer and was trying to figure out why the manufacturer of the laundry soap bottle chose to put the spout facing the handle. I picked up a basket and dumped it into the washer. There were 4 baskets on the floor - 3 dirty and 1 clean. What are the odds...
This morning we woke up to.....kittens!!! Sookie had her kittens sometime in the early a.m. She had them in a little box on the porch. Three little black and white ones. One boy and two girls. They are so cute!!!

Did you finally figure out how to post pictures?:-) I love them! Evie is a spitting image of your brother! I'm impressed, you are getting quite preschooly. Doing WAY better than me! And poor Helen, I'm so glad you are caring for her. Keep us posted on how she does. Michelle
