Manic Monday

Manic Monday…remember that song? I thought of it several times on Monday. Some days are just so crazy. Monday is always my shopping day. We head out between nursings and get all the groceries for the week. We had somewhat of a late start and were half way to the store when Jubilee started throwing up. There wasn’t much I could do for her but turn around and go back home. If it wasn’t so gross, it would have been comical. Sawyer was gagging and after the initial tears she just sat there looking so forlorn.

I put on a Bob the Builder for Sawyer and put Evie in the swing and then went out to wrestle Sissy out of the car seat without flinging barf everywhere. It was no easy task. I got her cleaned up and wrapped in a blanket on the chair and she promptly fell asleep. Back out to the car for more barf duty armed with Bac Out and a shish kabob skewer. Why oh why aren’t buckles and front straps barf proof? There are so many little compartments for the nastys to get wedged in.

Once I was back inside, I decided to try out the new baby powder on Evie. I am not much of a powder person but as you can see by her pictures she has no neck and “neck cheddar” as Phil calls it gets under her neck and in her every arm and leg fold. It makes a nasty rash and it stinks horribly. I couldn’t figure out how to get the lid of the powder and it came off in a giant white puff cloud. We were both covered in powder as was the couch. While this is going on I hear an “Oh, No….my didn’t put my pee pee down, Oh, No….Oh, No….It’s my fault”. Sawyer was sitting on the pot and forgot to aim down. He managed to completely hose the shower curtain.

So then I decided it was time for naps!!!

After laundry and some lunch I called my college roommate whom I haven’t talked to in almost 2 years. I learned that we both had our little girls within two weeks of each other. What fun! (Hi, Danica)

After Phil, got home, I decided to run and get groceries solo. We usual run errands together as a family but the car seat was still drying out.

I had spicy beans and salsa for dinner at around 8:30. This bit of information becomes important in about 7 hours when I find myself retching it all up (pretty disgusting the second time around). Tuesday was spent barfing in the morning and laying in bed all day feeling miserable. Phil took the day off (thank heavens) and held down the fort while I felt sorry for myself and bored out of my mind tossing and turning in bed. I must have had a low grade fever because I was really achy.

And that takes us to now…Sawyer was up throwing up at about 4 in the morning. Phil was in his room scraping it up with a spatula while Sawyer was in a tub. I got the sheets changed and washed. This morning I was on the porch shaking the barf remnants out of the clean laundry. The washer can never quite get it all.

Something cute….We were watching American Idol and Sawyer was quite interested in the microphone that the singers were using. He got up and was looking all around for something that would serve as one. Phil gave him the remote to try. He sang along with the music using his remote microphone. It was so adorable!!

Looking forward to a day of recoup and hoping that Phil and Evangeline are spared!
