Thanksgiving Break
For Thanksgiving, we went to my parent’s place. My brother’s in-laws joined us as well. My mom, as usual, had a delicious spread: smoked turkey, pickled cabbage, roast veggies, stir-fry Brussels sprouts, mashed potatoes and gravy, cranberry sauce, salad, homemade apple cider, pumpkin pie and cheesecake. It was delicious!
Here is the centerpiece:
Friday was an outdoor work day. It never ceases to amaze me how much Phil can get accomplished. He cleaned out the garage and built shelves to put all our storage stacking bins on. The entire front was still a mess from the summer’s building projects and now everything is put away and stored. Oh, and he had Sawyer as a “helper” the entire time!! Jubilee and I spent some time outside and then moved inside for house cleaning.
We got the other car seats cleaned today. Yuck, they were a mess of crumbs and dirt. I washed the covers and the entire family helped wipe down the frames.
Sometimes it is fun to sit in the car seats even when you aren’t in the car!
Today was a spoil day for me! Phil made yummy waffles for breakfast. At noon, I went over to Tina’s to get help on the quilt I am making for Evangeline. Mary, Tina’s mom, stayed an extra night just to show me how to do the backing, binding, and quilting. She offered to take the quilt home and finish it for me so I could practice quilting on a scrap quilt instead of a nice one. When I came home, a tasty potato soup was waiting for me!
Mary surprised me with three beautiful quilts that she made, one for Evangeline, one for Sawyer, and one for me (and Phil)! She has another one going for Jubilee! Here are the pictures:

Your Thanksgiving sounds wonderful! And what a beautiful centerpiece. Your mom never ceases to amaze me, but then again she doesn't have a bunch of little "helpers" :-). No center piece here. We did buffet style. So much simpler and functional, but not as aesthetically pleasing for sure. No one seemed to notice though. Love your new blog. Love Me.
